How do you treat a forum member who has joined years ago on a forum ? I have seen forum members from 2005 onwards and similar. The forum has changed hands many times, but members remained.
Abhi they shouldn't be treated any differently if you are talking about terms of usage etc. However, those with a high input can be entitled to additional privilege or other reward, but that does not extend to God like complexes.
Just like another member. But I would have in mind that he/she has been a dedicated member when something out of the league happens.
If you show favouritism, that is not good for a board in general.
Really ? Will that work ?
I think with years, their ego and sense of importance will grow as well.
That is what I have always done. All members are equal. We have in mind that this one has helped us a lot. Even community knows that. So it is not asking for respect, the staff and the community with find the person reputable and behave in such a manner.
hmm. I like the idea. But I have always found it difficult to do that. Some of them ask for respect. Not here, but in a few other forums.
Abhi Some of them ask for respect.
Precisely why you should be neutral. Otherwise it is inviting trouble.
Have a few members like that, you don't need to invite anything 😆
Ha ha. If your forum goes on for a couple of years, that is trouble in waiting. New comers and old faces clash often.
I don't know about this and i am learning from experienced people (from one of the brother i met online)
