I've been using https://gandi.net host for quite some time now, and I want to ask if it's a good hosting. I'm quite satisfied, but I wanna hear your opinions.
I have used Gandi once for a domain. Looks these are the same people and have started offering hosting as well.
It was at least 3 years back. There was nothing ill about them, more or less positive reviews.
It is more of a silent registrar / hosting. I have seen the name Gandi on hosting forums only once or twice. Possibly no one complained about them. There was no praise either. It could be possible that they are popular in some particular region.
In short, Gandi sound dependable. After all, they have been around all these years without much bad press. But there are other options like Namecheap which are quite good and affordable.

No. Gandi gud
Kevo What is the best thing you like about them ?
I tried their page. It says only 2 additional domains. That is addon domains, right ?
Kevo They are cheap and affordable.
I think it is correct. Almost all other host are either on the same line or costly.
Kevo You get free 2 mailboxes along with your domain for free
Namecheap has 5 or more. Not sure.
I think that for some purchases you can get some additional domains, not sure.
They allow you to have unlimited subdomains though, another reason why I like them.
How is the down time ? Do they have DDoS issues ?
About the downtime, I haven't encourted any in the 8 months I have my domain, so that's pretty okay imo.
As for DDoS protection, I think it's pretty decent. Not sure about this one, but I haven't catched any news about them getting DDoSed.
Which plan do you have ? Shared hosting ? What do you use it for ?
Too many questions
My friend bought me a .xyz domain for 1 year, I use it for my website & forum.
Don't mind. If it is a good host, someday I can switch too. That's all 🙂
I only ever used GandI once in my career, and that was for a French client. A complete nightmare, but that was my own experience personally.
