Have you ever thought about Microsoft bringing Windows 7 back to life ? A bit polish on the UI and security fixes and patches to the core. And the same UX. UX was the most brilliant part about Windows 7.
There are a lot of Windows 7 themes available for Linux. Some of them make us feel the sam comfort of Windows 7. Operating System like Zorin OS has an UI very close to what we had in Windows 7 and that has given them a lot of fan base.
I get the same refreshing experience with Linux. When I get bored with my current setup, I will tweak it altogether for a different experience. It is not the same monotonous experience we get with other OS.
You can use Gnome, KDE, MATE, XFCE, LXDE etc and switch between them according to level of your boredom. 😎️
I think they won't and they want users to have junk things installed when an OS is installed for the first time and Windows 10 does a great job. I hate using Windows theme in any Linux
Windows 7 can still get support, but paid. What if a lot of users opt for it ? I am sure there are people who do not want to use anything else.
If Windows 7 was open source... think about it. ..
If it becomes open source i will be willing to try it. If it stays closed source and comes out as a polished OS then a big no for me
People had the same emotion with Windows XP too
Windows 10 has integration for a lot of web services. And some of them are premium packages. It is a big store in itself. While you pay for it in the beginning, you will end up paying further when subscribing to other services, OneDrive for example.
