I have not seen any Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals on Forum Software. It would have been interesting to have such deals. I am curious why they never jump into such programs when almost all of the US and digital vendors are being part of it.
Yes i too use to wonder, i see many domain and hosting offers but not deals on forum softwares. This will surely boos their sale and customer base.
Why should they ? They get enough sales already. There are only a handful of premium forum software and they have their prices set according to the market.
Recently I see that almost every forum vendor wants a piece of managed solution. With that in hand, there could be some seasonal discounts to attract customers. Mainly because they are insanely priced.
That is correct. Managed solutions are priced way above the budget of a self-hosted user. Considering there is enough community support, they would like to lure people with discounts. One of the most popular free forums Vanilla too offer a hosted solution. It is not cheap, neither is the offering from Discourse. But I bet they are super fast. I do not have any info on the level of customer support. But I don't think it is worse. If so, internet will be full of it.
Hmm if they give a good offer many free forum software users may give the paid one a try right. Their are nulled and many use it. But to own a license legally and paying a small price is a wise choice right?
$ 200 is not a big amount. Not for people who buy iPhones, iPads and Mac book.
Abhi Yes it is not a big amount if it will be used to the full extend. Many stop foruming after few months and thinking what to do with the license.
Hosted solutions were always more costly. Those are meant to tax people / companies who do not want to invest " time " to learn how to manage a community. The same goes to managed hosting in web hosting industry. Hosted solutions has always been Premium.
