Do you feel that Github has a very bad UX ? I personally feel that things could be a bit more straightforward that what is now. Especially the terminology. Will Microsoft make it any simpler ?
I struggled a lot when I was new to Github. I had no idea what to do with it. I fell behind when compared to many of my friends who were busy doing PRs. That would have given some credibility. If we use anything long enough, there is a good chance that you will be able to handle them properly. I think that is the case with me.
I am still at the stage where Github and the terms are alien to me. I think that will change with time. I am not much of a repository person anyway. But Github could be a lot simpler if they want it to be.
Microsoft already changed a lot of things related to Github. The main showcase is a simple, straightforward Sponsor button. As long as they add things like that I am not complaining. Such easy to deal with changes are always welcome.
A lot of open source maintainers are happy about the Sponsor button. I think Gitlab can do that too. It is only a button after and some back-end management. Competing features always good.
Github has got some automation features lately. I haven't gone through it yet, but it helps the workflow according some people I know.
