Do you think domains which doesn't allow privacy should have some option to protect privacy?
.in domains have no domain privacy, i wanted a way to protect few vital details in it.

What you say is true. But they lack privacy protection because they are meant to. While when I buy a .co.uk domain, I do not want to shout my address and phone number to the world, country-specific domains currently have this problem.
At this point, there is nothing much we can do about it other than talking about it on forums and social media.
I didn't realize some domains wouldn't allow the protection of privacy. Thank you for teaching me something new 🙂
In answer to your question, I think they should offer that option. The 'net can be a scary place.
ZandraJoi The 'net can be a scary place.
2 days back, I saw this news. Some open-source maintainer got attacked by a rival group. At his home, on way his home etc. Because they managed to find his/her physical address.
Oh that is really scary, we can give fake address to protect ourselves from these events?
That is not a recommended choice. But a lot of people do that.
Jason Oh that is really scary,
Yes, it is..
Abhi Okay i see, then better to go with domains with whois privacy enabled rather than exposing our details.
Jason better to go with domains with whois privacy enabled
A very very wise decision 👍️
I used to have the same concerns. Then I simply stopped using them. I am very particular about keeping the private info safe.
I'm a very private person myself. Nobody knows my real name. I don't share pics. It's too easy to be hacked online.
ZandraJoi It's too easy to be hacked online.
How do you protect your PC ?
Very wise. Privacy is a lost thing these days.
admin How do you protect your PC ?
We use McAfee for virus, etc protection. Also have Carbonite in case something happens to the computer, Carbonite will have a backup on their server. We don't reuse passwords & make them hard to guess. Also don't download unnecesary sites & apps. I'm very picky about what I do online.
ZandraJoi Also have Carbonite in case something happens to the computer,
What is Carbonite ? A software ?
How do you manage ? Considering everything is online and scattered.
But you are doing the right thing. Better safe than sorry.
Abhi How do you manage ? Considering everything is online and scattered.
Just do the best I can. I think the main thing is not downloading a bunch of things, that can really help.

"Carbonite, Inc. is an American company that offers an online backup service, available to Windows and macOS users."
I thought it may have been worldwide but I guess it's only in the USA.
Oh i am also hearing it for the first time, is it free or subscription based?
Carbonite? You have to pay for it but for me, it's worth it. This just gives you a safety net to fall back on. They save all Files, including Pictures, Documents.
ZandraJoi but for me, it's worth it.
Is it a better option compared to Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox etc ?
Abhi Is it a better option compared to Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox etc ?
I personally don't like OneDrive. Always had issues with it. Kept getting errors that they couldn't save my work. The other two I never tried. Really try not to use google if I can.
This is on Carbonite's site:
"When using Microsoft OneDrive as a form of backup, if a file is deleted or infected on a local device, that change is automatically synced in OneDrive. Carbonite Backup for Microsoft 365 offers backup and recovery with granular restore to protect against this scenario."
