Does using CLI alone make you afraid ? Can you manage your server / VPS using command line only ? How hard you will say it is ?
Personally, after using cPanel, I am too shy of command line.
Abhi nope 😁 never in fact. I'm a command line junkie and have been for years. I was almost a cPanel purist for a years, then switched to plesk - massive difference (for the better) and I'll never use cPanel again after seeing how superior plesk is by comparison.
I see. Plesk is that good ?
Abhi I see. Plesk is that good ?
Yes. I'm a total convert.
I had no choice. There was a VPS and I had to manage it using command line. When there is no other way, you will somehow learn to do it. I
I cannot manage without a panel beyond a specific level of expertise. I know how to do the most common command line tricks. But when it comes to completely ditching the GUI, I prefer not to.
What is the good thing about it ?
Abhi The layout for one. cPanel is a cluttered mess, and lacks general ease of use for someone unfamiliar. Plesk takes a different approach, and in most cases is also wizard led.
I should look for a Plesk screenshot. More, a video 🙂
This page is an interesting read
A lot of features. But it will have a learning curve when migrating from cPanel. Doesn't matter. Both panels are from the same company now.
Abhi But it will have a learning curve when migrating from cPanel
Nope. Took me about 10 minutes to adjust !
Which one is costly. After recent price restructuring, I think both are on the same boat.
Plesk is relatively well priced. If you purchase it on its own it'll cost more, but if part of a VPS package for example it's cheaper.

You mean through the host ? As in Windows pre loaded laptop ?
Abhi You mean through the host ?
Yes, as part of the hosting agreement.
That sounds like a smart idea. Or a cunning one.
All partnerships are. I have worked for big corporates. I know how they forge deals. In the end, customer will be paying for it.
admin In the end, customer will be paying for it.
Yes - there is a monthly usage charge
Just like the phone deals ?
Abhi Pretty much - with the exception that it is continuous, so not a max of 24 months for example.
