Do you use FTP to transfer files to your server?
I use FTP quite often. It's a bit archaic, but it's certainly convenient and user-friendly.
Do you use sFTP ? Which client ?
I used to have Filezilla. But then everyone was like " it is a huge security risk " kind of statements. Looking for a good solution. Can Filezilla work using sFTP ?
I use FTP, though prefer SFTP. I currently use WinSCP on Windows and am looking at Cyberduck as a possible alternative, and FileZilla on Linux, though am looking for alternatives there, as well.
PGen98 I use FTP, though prefer SFTP.
Which sFTP client do you recommend ?
admin I actually use WinSCP on Windows, it can handle SFTP 🙂
Looks like it is famous PGen98
Their website says
167 million downloads to date
Abhi Yeah, it's a really solid product 🙂
I really don't need it anymore but i do have FlashFTP
FileZilla also supports SFTP. I use it on my server. ^^ WinSCP is another good option if you are using Windows.
StormyFire FileZilla also supports SFTP.
Is there any video on the same ? Thanks.
I don't really need it. I just use cPanel. Nonetheless, if I was doing actual web design, I don't know if I would use it or not. Well, back at university, we used FileZilla I think to upload stuff.
You can do some pretty tough stuff with cPanel or similar software like upload zip files for forum software.
I always found when i used FTP back in the day FileZilla was always being breached, not sure what it's like now.
Noble back in the day FileZilla was always being breached
Tell us about it please
Well when i look in the logs you can see bots trying to connect to the server 24/7, they never got in but you could see them trying, like i said i'm not sure if that is still the case as i don't use or have the need for FTP anymore.
That was more than 10 years ago so i'm sure the security has gotten better, or one would hope.
Noble when i look in the logs you can see bots trying to connect to the server 24/7,
Is this because you have enabled FTP? Is sFTP any better?
Not really sure, have had no use for FTP in some time now.
